In today's computer world, autorun viruses have become widely spread and more and more computer users are complaining about being infected with these types of viruses. Autorun viruses usually take advantage of the autorun feature from Windows, which allows optical discs and USB memory devices to automatically load certain applications when they are connected. In this situation, an autorun virus will be loaded into the system and will infect it before the user can do anything. Unfortunately, most antivirus solutions available on the market cannot take care of these types of viruses in the best way possible, leaving the infection present in your system, even if the cleaning process seems to remove the virus for good.

Fortunately, there are certain Windows applications specially designed for taking care of autorun viruses. One of them is Antirun. This Windows application allows you to protect your system from the autorun viruses present on USB memory sticks, detecting and blocking them before they can do any harm.

After installing and launching the application, the user will notice a simple and small interface, which only features a couple of graphical buttons. The program will run in the system tray and wait for a USB memory device to be connected. After detecting it, it will automatically scan it for autorun viruses and will display a notification to the user. After the USB disk is detected, the user will have the posibility to immunize the disk and remove the virus from it for good.

Besides removing autorun viruses, Antirun can also disconnect a USB memory stick in a much better way than using the Remove Hardware feature in Windows. By accessing the options section of the program, the user can configure it to start together with Windows and can also disable the autorun feature for all devices.

Pros

It can protect your system from the autorun viruses present on USB memory devices, with ease. Besides that, the autorun feature from Windows can be completely disabled using this application. Furthermore, the user can disconnect USB devices using the special feature.

Cons

The application can be considered too simple by some users. Antirun can easily protect your system from autorun viruses present on USB memory devices.
